Message from Turkish Republic Industry and Trade Minister Mr. Mehmet Zafer Çağlayan to the Maritime Sector

The Minister of Industry and Trade revealed significant messages to the sector with his opening speech in the opening ceremony of Exposhipping Europort on 25^th March, Wednesday.

Turkish Republic Industry and Trade Minister Mehmet Zafer Çağlayan was quoted as saying: “The maritime sector is a highly respected sector providing jobs to ten thousands of people along with its sub-institutions. Europort Istanbul 2009 is an exhibition to lead the course of the maritime sector. It is a great success to organize a maritime exhibition in our country in a time of global crisis. 90% of the Turkish foreign trade volume, which is $300 billion in total, has been met by the maritime sector. Turkey has lived through many crises. Today economic stability has been sustained in Turkey. Turkey has made great progress in the last six years. The maritime sector is one of the sectors to help us to cope with the crisis we have been living through.”
